"now that you are baptized your prayers are more readily heard by Jehovah."
Wrong. This is how prayer really works:
brother lett was giving the last talk of the day about what they supposedly accomplished in 100 years.
i was just waking up so im paraphrasing alittle(i was dosing off all day) anyways in his introduction he said.
"there is more evidence to prove gods kingdom on the earth is a reality than wind, electricity and gravity is a reality on the earth".
"now that you are baptized your prayers are more readily heard by Jehovah."

a big discussion driving back from the regional convention about what exactly was meant about pets.. the warning was obvious to me.
don't get pets, they cost time and money and you would do better to spend your time and money supporting the organization and going in field service.. as to the wine and beer, because the bro during his soliloquy admitted that the first thing he would like to do is relax after a hectic day at work with a glass of wine or beer, his conscience was traumatized.
however he came up with a perfect idea, he'd go tend the garden (obviously a solution for a married bro) or hit some golfballs at the driving range (maybe he's not married).. maybe jesus should have told the wine guzzlers at cana to sober up and go till the fields.. .
So after a day of work, rather than relaxing with a drink, you go for the other optional activities. But when you're done gardening or whacking balls and would like to sit down and enjoy a beer or a glass of wine... uh oh, traumatized conscience returns, must go gardening or whacking balls again. This could become a fatal cycle.
Headline: "JW Man Gardens Himself to Death after Attending WT Crapvention - Doctors Say Beer Could Have Saved His Life"
Sure, pets take time and money. Installing and maintaining indoor plumbing takes time and money. Gardening and golf both take time and money, too. Sure, I've done plenty of gardening that returned a fair amount of produce. But I've bought plenty of seeds and tended plants that died before yielding and were a total waste of time. And isn't tending flowers and bushes a waste of time and money?
GB to children: "Your beloved pet is worldly. 'It' is a satanic waste of time and money that Jehovah will destroy at Armageddon. But cheer up, Jehovah will replace your demonic animal with a perfect panda in the new system!"*
*Footnote: Pandas will only be available where there is a suitable food supply. There won't be any zoos. So you'll only get to see a panda for a couple of days every million years, if you're approved to travel. As a perfect person by WT standards, you will not want or need any kind of pet. Even in paradise you won't have time or money for such animals because we'll have plenty of meetings and new scams to keep everyone slaving for the corporation.
so, witlesses are handing out assembly invitations locally for their gatherings to invite the public to attend...... .
a meeting that's 50, 100, 150 miles away?
there was an era when placards were put in storefront windows and bombastic sermons were delivered by radio.
Such a waste of paper, ink, fuel, and time.
- if you have a problem with someone in the congregation -it's your fault.
- only brothers have the immorality problem.
- brothers have 4 main vices on his mental shelf.
Welcome CubicalDUDE!
"Only brothers have the immorality problem"
Really? Then who are the brothers committing immorality with? When the married service overseer and a single pioneer sister in an old congo of mine started doin' it, was her participation "moral"? In one congregation it happened twice that single sisters met guys in service that they later hooked up with, and later married.
and i mean celebrated!
it was a cracking barbecue party for around 40 good friends and neighbours as well as my 'never jw' cousins and one of my brothers and his family.. .
drank a bit too much, embarrassed my kids with some 'dad dancing' and laughed until 2 in the morning.
Happy Birthday!
brother lett was giving the last talk of the day about what they supposedly accomplished in 100 years.
i was just waking up so im paraphrasing alittle(i was dosing off all day) anyways in his introduction he said.
"there is more evidence to prove gods kingdom on the earth is a reality than wind, electricity and gravity is a reality on the earth".
"There is more evidence to prove Gods kingdom on the earth is a reality than wind, electricity and gravity is a reality on the earth"
What an idiot. Just because Lett doesn't understand wind, electricity, or gravity, it means they aren't reality? Perhaps he should grab a line labeled "high voltage", or step off a tall building, or stand in the path of a tornado. The fact is, if someone goes apostate against wind, electricity, or gravity, they get plenty of evidence, very quickly, that these are realities that deserve complete respect.
However, when I realized that Jehovah wasn't a reality and went apostate against the JW cult, I very quickly saw there was no evidence to prove that god had any such kingdom on earth. It was all a money-making hoax for WT Corp.
hi to everyone, my name is jerry, i am 56 and i live in tralee, kerry ireland.
i will not bore you with the all too familiar details, suffice it to say i was a prime candidate for indoctrination/ brainwashing.
the surprising aspect is that my wife, a staunch catholic started a study soon after i did.
Welcome!
Your story really exposes the cultiness of WT.
so my situation is changing and i am trying to figure out the best way for me to handle this.
i am an unbaptized publisher married to a dub who was inactive when we met and when we married and during the course of our marriage, and just went back active a year and a half ago.
he is a full believing dub.
"I want to withdraw my status as an unbaptized publisher but not be labeled an apostate."
It's hard to say exactly how any one congregation or the random publishers will react. The cult teachs that shunning is a "loving arrangement." So you can't expect them to react in rational ways.
My primary suggestion is to maintain healthy nonJW relationships. The JWs will try to isolate and control you. Be prepared to tell them "no".
As far as any doubts, you can try to deflect. "While trying to preach to my [sister, mom, friend, etc.], they posed this question. I was surprised and didn't know how to respond. I assured them that I would ask you and you would have an answer that I could bring back." It makes you a neutral intermediary, and that you're getting these questions by doing what JWs are supposed to do... shoving their religion down other people's throats.
i have published more than 200 'daily text' comments in german, and will now start translating those into english.
they will be published here:.

Hmmm, with that scriptural encouragement I'll have wine on my Cheeries this morning and find a couple of Watchtowers to "study" later.
the current fading of brand name "the watchtower" & the rise, rise, rise of jw.org.
the watchtower as brand name is in the process of being imperceptibly faded from visibility in the organization.
who'd have thought you could make a watchtower fade and disappear?
"It's just putting lipstick on a pig, nobody under 40 is going to be impressed..."
I dunno. Maybe if you also put some JW.org earrings on the pig there might be something.
